18 Arrested at White House

WASHINGTON — Eighteen trade union activists were arrested Friday outside the White House when they blocked a gate during a peaceful protest over the deaths of labor leaders in El Salvador. The U.S. Park Police said the protesters were charged with demonstrating without a permit, a misdemeanor.
