HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Walters Paces Antelope Valley Win

Chris Walters scored a game-high 30 points and three other players from Antelope Valley High scored in double figures as the Antelopes defeated Crespi, 79-63, in a nonleague boys’ game Thursday at Crespi.

Walters added 11 assists and teammate Jabbar Briggs scored 13 points for Antelope Valley (7-2). Center John Pletsch scored 13 points and had 12 rebounds for the Antelopes.

Rasaan Hall scored a team-high 29 points for Crespi (5-6) and Matt Luderer handed out 10 assists.

In other nonleague games:

Royal 76, Alemany 52--Russell Myers came off the bench to score a game-high 25 points to lead Royal at Alemany.

Royal (8-2) is off to its best start.

Tim Fontanette scored 19 points for Alemany (6-6) but had only four in the second half.

Canyon 73, Hemet 66--Jermaine Nixon scored a team-high 23 points to lead Canyon at home.

Jon Civita added 18 points for the Cowboys (7-2). Lamotte Williams scored 29 points for Hemet (4-5).

Montclair Prep 90, Villanova Prep 36--Montclair Prep’s Jackie Shemtov scored a game-high 27 points and recorded nine steals at Montclair Prep.

J. T. Billingslea scored 11 points and handed out eight assists and Chris Sanger scored six points to go along with his 12 rebounds for the Mounties (7-3).

Villanova Prep fell to 2-8.

Holy Martyrs 58, Camp Kilpatrick 49--Guard Apik Minassian scored a game-high 21 points for host Holy Martyrs (5-0) in a nonleague game.

Center Mampre Pomakian added 15 points for the winners.

St. Genevieve 64, Murphy 59--Mike Pacpaco hit two free throws to give St. Genevieve a 62-59 lead with 15 seconds left, then he stole the inbounds pass and fed Jessie De La O for a layup with 12 seconds left to account for the winning margin at Murphy.

Pacpaco led all scorers with 16 points and St. Genevieve center Mike Hoffmann scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Dominic Muller added 12 points for the Valiants (2-7).
