Miller Named Most Valuable by Chargers

Wide receiver Anthony Miller has been chosen by his teammates as the Chargers’ most valuable player this season.

Other Charger awards were given to outside linebacker Ken Woodard (best special teams player), defensive ends Leslie O’Neal and Lee Williams (best linemen) and cornerback Gill Byrd (most inspirational).

Miller, in his second year out of Tennessee, has caught 70 passes for 1,199 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Woodard leads the special teams with 12 tackles. He deflected a punt to set up the winning touchdown Nov. 12 against the Raiders.

O’Neal is second in total tackles with 88. Williams is fourth with 66 and was selected to the Pro Bowl this week for the second consecutive season.

Byrd has seven interceptions, tops for AFC cornerbacks. He has 25 career interceptions, which ties him for second on the team’s all-time list with Kenny Graham.
