College Budget Up $1.7 Million Due to New State Revenue

Share

The Long Beach City College Board of Trustees has approved a budget of more than $74 million, representing an increase of about $1.7 million over the previous academic year’s budget.

College officials say the increased revenue is due, in part, to new income sources such as Proposition 98, which funds employer-based training programs.

The new budget is broken down roughly as follows: 75.4% for salaries and benefits, 3.1% for books and supplies, 8.6% for operating expenses and 4.2% for capital outlay.

The anticipated ending balance, according to officials, is 8.7%.
