A Fallbrook man was fatally stabbed Christmas morning after he and another man exchanged insults at a party, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reported Monday.
Rafael Mendoza Cortez, whom authorities described as a 47-year-old laborer, was drinking with several friends in a trailer on Estate Drive when the suspect, Cresencio Alcocer, arrived, deputies said.
The two men began insulting each other about 1 a.m. and then stepped outside, deputies said.
Cortez was pronounced dead at Fallbrook Hospital of stab wounds to the chest and leg.
Alcocer, 37, a ranch hand, was arrested for investigation of murder, according to Sgt. Chuck Curtis.
