LOCAL : Tarzana Youth Finds Father Slain
A Tarzana teen-ager found his 54-year-old father shot to death in their apartment this morning, Los Angeles police said. There were no suspects.
Simon Sarkissian, who worked as a baker, was found dead on the floor of his apartment at 12:10 a.m. when his son, Armin Sarkissian, 19, returned home, Detective Rick Swanston said.
The son found the door to the apartment in the 18400 block of Hatteras Street closed and no sign of forced entry, Swanston said. Neighbors reported hearing a sound that may have been gunfire about 20 minutes before the victim was found.
Swanston said that there is no evidence the victim had been robbed and that no other motive is apparent.
