A substitute teacher at Chet F. Harritt Elementary School pleaded not guilty to 19 counts of child molestation Wednesday.
John Patrick Busker, 27, of Santee is charged with 10 counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child and nine counts of child molestation.
The charges resulted from complaints made by five children, alleging that Busker molested them during class Nov. 30.
Busker, who is free on $75,000 bail, is accused of molesting nine girls ranging from ages 8 to 11.
Municipal Judge Timothy Tower told Busker not to contact any of the children or their parents, and set Busker’s preliminary hearing for Feb. 5.
