Horace Lee Kalik, 69; L.A. Philanthropist

Horace Lee Kalik, a Los Angeles attorney and philanthropist who served on the board of the Institute for Cancer and Blood Research and was a historical founder of the Music Center, one of the group that donated money to the initial building fund in the early 1960s, died Tuesday in Los Angeles. He was 69 and had a heart infection.

A Harvard Law School graduate, he founded his own firm in Los Angeles after moving here from New York and specialized in real estate and corporate law.

His survivors include two children and a sister. Donations in his name are asked to the Institute for Cancer and Blood Research in Beverly Hills.
