USC Women Lose Consolation Game

Carolyn Jones scored 25 points to lead 13th-ranked Auburn to a 71-55 win over USC Friday in the consolation game of the Atlantic women’s basketball tournament in Piscataway, N.J.

The Tigers jumped to a 7-0 lead and led, 38-31, at halftime, but USC rallied to tie the score, 44-44, on two free throws by Rosalind Hodge.

Auburn pulled away from the Trojans in the second half.

Hodge led USC with 17 points and 16 rebounds as the Trojans fell to 2-4. Auburn is 7-3.
