Two teen-agers were arrested in the slaying of a 15-year-old Pacoima boy last month in a dispute between opposing gangs, Los Angeles police said Friday.

Peter Garcia, 18, and a 17-year-old boy, both of Pacoima, were arrested Thursday night after an anonymous caller tipped police to an apartment where they were staying near Paxton Park, Detective Al Ferrand said.

Both suspects were being sought in the Dec. 10 slaying of Victor Mancha, who was beaten with a baseball bat and shot to death in an alley near the 10900 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard, Ferrand said.

The suspects were identified after witnesses and friends of Mancha told police that those involved in the slaying were members of a gang that was involved in a dispute with the victim’s gang, Ferrand said.

Ferrand said it is believed that the 17-year-old, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, was the gunman in the killing.
