Alabama football Coach Bill Curry met with the university’s athletic director and president, who gave him more time to consider a coaching offer from Kentucky.
Athletic Director Hootie Ingram and President Roger Sayers had expected to hear from Curry on Thursday night, when he returned from a two-day trip from Lexington, Ky., where Wildcat Athletic Director C.M. Newton offered him the Kentucky coaching job.
The three finally got together late Friday morning in Sayers’ office. Ingram said afterward that Curry “indicated he and (his wife) Caroline needed more time to think it over and we agreed to that. All parties agreed to settle it quickly and we respect that.”
