Alhambra : Audit of Hospital Sought

Share

To help solve Alhambra Community Hospital’s money problems and at the same time end the city’s financial woes, the City Council has introduced an ordinance calling for an audit of hospital operations. Final approval of the audit requires a second council vote.

In a separate action Monday, the council also voted to place on the April ballot a measure asking voters to repeal a 1982 initiative that set conditions on the sale of the hospital.

The hospital, owned by the Alhambra Redevelopment Agency, has fallen behind in its rent payments, forcing the council to cut the city budget and increase municipal fees.
