Share

The Padres signed catcher Ronn Reynolds Friday to a one-year contract that will pay him $68,000 or the major league minimum if he makes the major league roster.

Reynolds, who last played in the Milwaukee Brewer organization and also spent time in the majors with the Astros, Phillies and Mets, is among six non-roster players who have been invited to camp. The others are catchers Bob Lutticken, Danny Walters and Greg Conley; pitcher Roger Smithberg; shortstop Paul Faries and third baseman Eddie Williams.

The Padres also have signed minor league third baseman/outfielder Craig Repoz, who was acquired in a trade from the New York Mets for third baseman/outfielder Nikco Riesgo, who attended San Diego State. They also signed free-agent outfielders David Colon and Alberto Mateos.
