Pilot Sentenced to Life for Drug Smuggling Role
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —
A pilot for convicted drug kingpin Carlos Lehder Rivas has been sentenced to two consecutive life terms and fined $2 million by a federal judge.
Jack Carlton Reed, 59, of Los Angeles, was sentenced Friday for his October conviction of conspiring to distribute cocaine and operating a continuing criminal enterprise. Another defendant, Donald K. Lady, 41, of Pomona, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for conspiring to import cocaine.
