Argentina to Play Mexico at Coliseum
Argentina, the defending World Cup soccer champion which has yet to win after two exhibition games this year, will play Mexico tonight at 8 in the Coliseum.
Most of the players who will represent Argentina in this summer’s World Cup in Italy are expected to be with the team tonight, a notable exception being Diego Maradona, star of the championship team. He is under contract to Napoli in the Italian League.
Argentina earlier lost to Monaco, 2-0, and played to a scoreless tie with Guatemala.
Mexico is expected to field a young team as it builds for the future. It was disqualified from this year’s World Cup for using over-age players in a junior tournament.
