NEW YORK — Carl (Andy) Capasso, boyfriend of former Miss America Bess Myerson, was named in a $70-million civil racketeering lawsuit filed by his former wife.
Nancy Capasso claims that he hid assets from her during their divorce in 1985 and has prevented her from receiving a $6.4-million divorce settlement.
The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, the same courthouse where Capasso and Myerson were acquitted in December, 1988, of criminal charges that they conspired with Judge Hortense Gabel to fix the Capassos’ divorce.
Andy Capasso, who recently completed a prison term for federal tax evasion, was one of several defendants in the lawsuit. Also named were Capasso’s bank and insurance companies, which Nancy Capasso claims interfered on behalf of Capasso in the sale of property she received in the divorce settlement.
