Share

Katella Avenue will receive $2.3 million worth of improvements this year, including a traffic signal coordination project, new storm drains and the widening of a busy intersection.

The city has received a $1.6-million grant to coordinate traffic signals on Katella Avenue from the San Gabriel River Freeway to the Orange Freeway. The grant was made by the Orange County Transportation Commission, which is funding projects to improve traffic on regionally significant streets such as Katella.

A $368,000 storm drain also will be installed on Katella from State College Boulevard to Lewis Street as part of a Board of Supervisors plan to improve arterial roads. And the county will be paying for a widening of the intersection of Katella and State College to improve traffic. The widening will cost $366,000.
