A California City man has been arrested in the stabbing of a 17-year-old Lancaster youth, who was allegedly attacked last week by four gang members after refusing to tell them what school he attended.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies from the gang detail of the Antelope Valley station arrested Clifford Pinkney, 22, after sighting him Thursday afternoon at a pay phone in Antelope Valley Municipal Court, authorities said. Pinkney was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on $5,000 bail.

Pinkney named the three other assailants, who are still being sought, deputies said. All four are members of a gang based in Quartz Hill, deputies said, and are alleged to have stabbed the 17-year-old with a knife and a screwdriver after accosting him on Gadsden Avenue in Lancaster and demanding that he tell them what school he attends.

The youth was treated for wounds in the leg and torso and released. Members of the same gang are also believed to have played a role in the shooting death two weeks ago of an Antelope Valley high school athlete, deputies said.
