Harness Writers Will Present Awards to 2 Race Veterans
Lou Guida, a leading owner and syndicator of harness horses, and Sonny Werblin, a prime mover behind the building of the Meadowlands race track and sports complex, will receive Presidential Awards from the U.S. Harness Writers’ Assn.
Guida will receive the Presidential Citation Award as Owner of the Decade.
Werblin, who 20 years ago accepted the job as chairman of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, will receive the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
The awards will be presented at the annual association dinner on April 22 at the Meadowlands.
