Ingersoll Publications Co. announced the sale of five daily newspapers in Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin to Toronto-based Thomson Newspaper Corp. for $270 million . . . Holiday Corp., Memphis, Tenn., said it expects to complete the $2.2-billion sale of its Holiday Inns chain to Bass PLC of London Feb. 7 . . . Monterey Park-based International Aluminum Corp. announced that it intends to resume the repurchase of its common stock under the previously authorized repurchase policy adopted in October, 1987 . . . The Investment Company Institute reported that the assets of the nation’s 490 money market mutual funds climbed $1.64 billion in the week ended Jan. 24, to a record high of $383.07 billion.
