Los Angeles Ethics Bill
As an ex-Angeleno of almost 15 years, I have followed the City Council and its problems with ethics. There was one sentence in the article in the Metro section (Jan. 22) that brought the whole thing into sharp focus: “(Council members) drifted away, conversing in small clutches in the council chambers and consulting with lobbyists (emphasis added) and others who hovered near the front pews of the visitors’ section.”
No wonder ethics take a back seat.
