A University of Miami student who accused Hurricane quarterback Craig Erickson of assaulting him said he won’t press charges.

Jay Dewing, 20, suffered a black eye, swollen lip and two facial cuts in the bar fight Thursday night. Dewing said Doug Johnson, associate athletic director in charge of compliance, assured him that the university would discipline Erickson, although specifics weren’t discussed.

“I made a big stink of it because I wanted everybody to know what he did,” Dewing said.
