Fleeting showers Saturday night, similar to those that doused San Diego earlier this week, will be the only snag in an otherwise pleasant weekend, the National Weather Service said.

Rain aside, the forecast calls for lots of sunshine, decreasing winds and warmer temperatures through Monday.

The weak storm from the Gulf of Alaska will bring less than a quarter inch of rain to the county before moving out Sunday morning, said forecaster Wilbur Shigehara.

A second storm is expected midweek, he said.

Thursday’s brief storm was more bluster than substance, Shigehara said.

Winds whipping up to 30 m.p.h. prompted the weather service to issue a small-craft advisory for local waters, but no damage was reported, he said.

Winds will drop to between 20 and 25 m.p.h. on the weekend, Shigehara said.

He expects to cancel the small-craft advisory Saturday.

The rain that fell Thursday was not measurable in most parts of the county, but Mt. Laguna got an inch of snow at the 6,200-foot-level, Shigehara said.

Daytime temperatures that struggled to hit 60 degrees this week will gradually climb today, Shigehara said.

Highs at the beaches through Sunday will hover in the low 60s, he said.

The surf is 3 to 5 feet. The ocean is 58 degrees.

Coastal highs today will be 62 to 67 degrees, 66 to 77 Saturday and back down to 62 to 66 Sunday, Shigehara said.

Lows tonight of 40 to 48 are expected, 45 to 50 Saturday night.

Highs inland today will be 65 to 70 degrees, nudge up into the low 70s Saturday, and fall back into the upper 60s Sunday, Shigehara said.

Overnight lows are forecast to be 40 to 48 tonight, 40 to 46 Saturday.

Daytime temperatures in the mountains will be 38 to 45 today and in the mid-40s on the weekend, Shigehara said. Lows tonight will be 23 to 33 and 26 to 32 Saturday ight.

Desert highs will be in the upper 60s today and in the low 70s on the weekend, Shigehara said.

Lows will be in the upper 30s tonight, and in the mid-40s Saturday night.
