Car Hits, Kills Man in Burbank Crosswalk

A man crossing a Burbank street was struck and killed by a driver who didn’t see him in time, police said Friday.
The victim, believed to be in his 50s, was unidentified, police said. He was killed while crossing Victory Boulevard in a crosswalk at Orange Grove Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Detective Bob Elias said.
The man was struck by a car driven by Fadil Mehmad, 70, of Sherman Oaks, who was driving south on Victory Boulevard, Elias said.
No charges were filed and the accident is still under investigation, Elias said.
