An electrical short started a fire that caused $200,000 damage at a Glendale business, fire officials said Friday.

About 100 firefighters from Glendale, Burbank and Los Angeles fought the fire at Cal Best Ceiling, in the 1900 block of Gardena Avenue, which was reported at 11:37 p.m. Thursday, said Mike Hand of the Verdugo dispatch center.

Flames burned through the roof before they were extinguished early Friday, Hand said. The blaze caused $100,000 damage to the building and $100,000 to its contents, Hand said.
