Motorcyclist, Passenger Critically Hurt in Crash
A motorcyclist and his passenger were critically injured Monday night when their Kawasaki Ninja collided with an automobile at an intersection, police said.
The victims, whose identities were withheld pending notification of relatives, were airlifted to UCI Medical Center in Orange and Western Medical Center-Santa Ana. Neither man was wearing helmets, police said.
The accident happened at 7:35 p.m. on Edinger Avenue at Newhope Street as the motorcycle headed west at a high speed, said Lt. Greg Cooper. The cycle crashed into an automobile that was turning left onto Newhope from eastbound Edinger, Cooper said. The driver of the automobile was not injured.
