Members of other ethnic groups attempting to deal with some of the same problems facing the African-American community are particularly sought. These include Americans of Latino, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Caribbean, Indian, East and West European and American Indian descent, and others.

The broader-based membership would help the NAACP to work with other community organizations to improve human rights, address civil rights issues, stimulate community development, expand educational and career opportunities for youth, and get more senior citizens and handicapped residents involved with community development projects.

Interested individuals and organizations should contact Andrew Williams, membership chairman for the NAACP’s Inglewood-South Bay branch by writing to PO Box 8162, Inglewood 90301 or calling 671-7838 or 939-9623.
