A fire that started in a fireplace caused $800,000 in damage late Wednesday to a hillside home near Mulholland Drive in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles firefighters said.
The fire was reported shortly after 10 p.m. in the two-story home in the 3300 block of Stoneridge Lane, Fire Department spokesman Greg Acevedo said. He said one firefighter was taken to Sherman Oaks Community Hospital for treatment of a dislocated shoulder, but no other injuries were reported.
About 50 firefighters battled the blaze for 48 minutes before putting it out.
