Orientation Set for May 12 Fund-Raiser
Orientation workshops for the Human Race, a fund-raising event on May 12, have been scheduled on Feb. 22 in Torrance, Feb. 28 in Long Beach and March 14 in San Pedro.
The race, a one-day event sponsored by the Volunteer Center, South Bay-Harbor-Long Beach, will be held at Cal State Dominguez Hills. It helps organizations raise money by having participants walk, run, roller-skate or ride in wheelchairs to raise pledge money for their favorite charities. Last year, the event raised $170,000 for 100 charities.
Nonprofit and social service agencies interested in raising funds through the Human Race should send a representative to an orientation workshop.
