SIDELINES : Kickoff Classic Set for Aug. 31

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The Kickoff Classic between USC and Syracuse will be played Aug. 31, game organizers said today.
The two schools agreed last month to play in the eighth annual game, which traditionally opens the collegiate football season.
Raycom Sports will syndicate the game at Giants Stadium for television. Mutual Radio will carry the contest nationally.
