Vatican to Celebrate Sistine Restoration: The Vatican plans an exhibition, an international symposium and books to mark the completion of the restoration of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling frescoes. The Vatican said Thursday that an exhibition will open March 25, marking the end of a 10-year project that cleaned and restored the Renaissance artist’s 16th-Century masterpieces. The cleaning of the Sistine has been one of the most ambitious and significant art restoration projects in history.
