A Hutchinson, Kan., company has issued a nationwide recall of approximately 106,000 pounds of frozen pork pizza topping because it may contain light bulb fragments, the Agriculture Department said Friday.

The product was made by Doskocil Sausage Co. and was sold exclusively to food service facilities, including restaurants and carryouts, the department said.

Products include “Leprino Foods Pizza Topping Mix” with the code NOV13891131 and “Pizzano Cooked Italian Style Pizza Topping” with a code of NOV13891548 or NOV20891548.

Lester M. Crawford, administrator of the department’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, said both products were shipped in cartons containing 5-pound bags. The Establishment number 623 was stamped on the cartons and bags.

The company began the recall after receiving four complaints about broken glass in pizza topping, Crawford said. There have been no reports of contaminated products being consumed.

Jim Greene, a department spokesman, said the products went to some 60 distributors “from California to Pennsylvania.”
