Defining the Typical Do-It-Yourselfer: A Married Man
- Share via
The typical do-it-yourselfer is a man and he is 25 to 49 years old. He owns a single-family home near the East or West Coast, is married, has one child and his wife works.
The combined annual income of the household is between $20,000 and $49,000.
Willingness to undertake general home improvement projects falls off in families with income over $40,000. It’s believed that families in that bracket buy a new home rather than remodel.
