ORANGE : Man Arrested Near Bank Robbery Scene
A 30-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of robbing a Bank of America branch--located across the street from the police station.
Moments after a silent alarm was tripped by bank employees, Stephen Michael Coulter, 30, of Orange was taken into custody as he walked down the street, about half a block from the bank and police headquarters in the 300 block of East Chapman Avenue, said Sgt. Art Romo.
Coulter was carrying $980 in cash and was unarmed, Romo said.
The bank robber had used a note to demand money from a teller in the 1:45 p.m. robbery, Romo said.
