Joe Dumars scored a season-high 34 points and the Detroit Pistons came back from a four-point deficit in the final six seconds of regulation Friday night to beat the Philadelphia 76ers in overtime, 115-112, at Detroit.

Dumars made 13 of 14 free throws in regulation and all five in overtime as Detroit beat Philadelphia for the first time in three tries this season. The Pistons have won 17 of their last 18 games.

“It was a tough game. Physical. A lot of ups and downs,” Dumars said. “We were looking like we were closed out, and then we came back.”

Trailing 103-99 after Rick Mahorn’s free throw with 10 seconds remaining, Isiah Thomas made a three-point basket to give the Pistons a 103-102 lead with five seconds left. Thomas stole the inbounds pass by Mike Gminski and passed to Dumars, who put the Pistons ahead, 104-103, with two seconds to play.

The 76ers inbounded to Charles Barkley, who was fouled by Dennis Rodman. But Barkley missed his first free throw and made the second to send the game into overtime.

Barkley led the 76ers with 26 points, but scored none in overtime as he was covered by Rodman.

Mahorn, a Piston when Detroit won its first NBA crown last season, received his championship ring before the game.

Barkley scored his 10,000th NBA point when he hit a jump shot with 16 seconds left in the third quarter. He joins six other 76ers in reaching that mark.

San Antonio 131, Golden State 115--David Robinson scored 41 points--his second consecutive season-high performance against the Warriors--as the Spurs won easily at San Antonio.

Robinson, who had 38 in an overtime loss to the Warriors on Wednesday, also had 17 rebounds and was supported by Terry Cummings’ 29 points. The Spurs trail the Utah Jazz by two games in the Midwest Division.

Chris Mullin scored 30 points for Golden State.

Atlanta 132, Milwaukee 110--Dominique Wilkins scored a season-high 44 points and made his last 13 shots in a 19-for-22 performance at Atlanta to lead the Hawks to their fifth consecutive victory.

Wilkins’ three-point basket with 6:01 left in the third quarter broke a 70-70 tie and started an 11-0 run that put the Hawks in front to stay. Wilkins, whose previous best this season was 38 points at Philadelphia last Dec. 13, also had nine rebounds.

Greg Anderson and Ricky Pierce had 24 points apiece for Milwaukee.

Chicago 112, New Jersey 91--Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen scored 23 points apiece at Chicago to lead the Bulls to their seventh consecutive victory.

The Nets have lost 18 of their last 19 and 17 in a row on the road--one short of tying the club record set in 1987-88.

Jordan sat out the fourth quarter after the Bulls led, 87-61, at the end of three periods.

Sam Bowie and Dennis Hopson scored 18 points apiece for New Jersey.

Boston 122, Miami 110--Kevin McHale scored 22 of his 26 points in the second half, including nine during a key third-quarter run at Miami as the Celtics won their fourth game in a row.

Phoenix, which lost its second in a row after nine consecutive victories, got 28 points apiece from Tom Chambers and Kevin Johnson.

Seattle 99, Minnesota 83--Derrick McKey scored 12 points in the third quarter at Seattle as the SuperSonics broke open a close game and avenged a 28-point loss to the Timberwolves.
