Buena Park Police Lt. Tony Kelly said a woman driving a car north on Knott Avenue at 3:07 a.m. Sunday collided in the La Palma Avenue intersection with a car driven by a 21-year-old woman.

The first driver was thrown from her car, Kelly said. She was taken to La Palma Intercommunity Hospital, where she died soon after arrival. Her name has been withheld pending notification of relatives.

The 21-year-old, whose name police did not release, suffered minor injuries.

About 11 p.m. Saturday, the California Highway Patrol said, a 42-year-old man was driving east on Carbon Canyon Road near Valencia Road in Brea when his car veered into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle, killing him. His name was being withheld until relatives could be notified.
