The Spurs today filled their 12th roster spot by signing free agent Reggie Williams, a Clippers’ first-round draft choice in 1987.

Williams was signed for the rest of the season, according to a statement issued by the Spurs. No contract terms were revealed.

Bob Bass, assistant to the Spurs chairman, said Williams will be in uniform and present for the game tonight against the Houston Rockets in San Antonio.

Williams, who turned 26 today, was the fourth overall pick in the 1987 draft and suffered through an injury-plagued rookie year with the Clippers. In his first two NBA seasons with the Clippers, he averaged 10.3 points in 98 games.

This season he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers along with the signing rights to Danny Ferry. The Cavaliers waved Williams on Feb. 24.
