SHORT TAKES : Cher Postpones Arizona Shows

Singer-actress Cher’s scheduled Tucson and Phoenix shows have been postponed without firm new dates, promoters said Tuesday.

Promoter Buster Bonoff of BBP Inc. in Phoenix said Cher’s publicity office in New York had yet to say why Cher’s tour dates have been changed. He also said that alternate dates were under consideration but that nothing had been firmed up. Cher was to have opened her “Heart of Stone” tour in Tucson on March 18 and appeared March 20 in the Phoenix area.

Mara Buxbaum of Cher’s New York office said Cher’s tour is to open March 31 in Dallas, then will move on to Houston, Austin, Atlanta and several cities in Florida. The Las Vegas performance that was to have followed those in Arizona has been rescheduled for June, she said.
