Outfielder Darryl Strawberry of the New York Mets has been ordered by a St. Louis judge to pay $40,000 in past-due child support payments and an additional $2,000 a month to a woman who says he fathered her son.
The child was born in June of 1988 to Lisa Clayton, and at a hearing earlier this year her attorney introduced blood tests that showed that Strawberry was the father. Clayton had sought more than $11,000 a month in support payments.
