Share

All wasn’t lost for the St. Louis Blues.

Jyrki Lumme scored with 2:41 left in overtime to give the Vancouver Canucks a 6-5 victory at St. Louis Thursday night, but the Blues still had reason for some celebration.

St. Louis became the first Norris Division team to clinch a spot in the playoffs when the Detroit Red Wings lost at Pittsburgh.

However, the Blues’ lead over second-place Chicago was reduced to three points.

With the victory, the Canucks staved off elimination in the Smythe Division.

St. Louis seemed to have the game in hand until Igor Larionov’s second goal of the game with 22 seconds left in regulation sent the game to overtime.
