Datum Inc. Reports 25% Increase in Profits for 1989

Anaheim-based Datum Inc. said net earnings for 1989 rose 25% to $1.4 million from $1.1 million in 1988. The 1988 figure included a $103,000 extraordinary gain from an accounting change. Revenue reached a record $37 million, up 16% from the $31.9 million posted a year earlier. The results include the first full year of operations from Austron Inc., which was acquired in 1988.
For the fourth quarter, net income totaled $370,000, compared to $83,000 for the comparable 1988 quarter. Revenue rose 12% to $9.8 million from $8.8 million.
Datum manufactures precision frequency products and timing instrumentation for military, industrial, space and commercial applications.
