Politelli Claims Two Motocross Wins

Frank Politelli of Canyon Country scored two victories in the 250 Quad division as a long motocross racing series began at Ventura Raceway Saturday night.

Riders received points for each heat victory in the opening series of 11 motocross races that will run through November at the raceway.

Other winners in the 250 Quad class--for four-wheel vehicles with 250-cc engines--were Greg Ryan of Moorpark and Bryan Sandoval of Oxnard.

Winners in the 125cc class were Bryan Staben of Camarillo in the junior division with two wins, Tiger Garcia of Oakview in the intermediate category, Josh Brewer of Oakview and Ron Sparth of Newbury Park among beginners, and Tom Holt of Ventura in the pro category.

In the 250cc class, winners included Mark Cromer of Ventura and Ron Brown Jr. of Oak View in the beginner class, Frank Lowers of Santa Maria in the junior division, and Gary Sailors of Agoura Hills in the Pros.
