Three teen-agers were arrested early today in connection with the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old man during a fight just after midnight in the parking lot of an all-night convenience store in Garden Grove, police said today.

David Eugene Davenport of Garden Grove was killed by a shotgun blast about 12:10 a.m. outside a Circle K store at the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Katella Avenue, Garden Grove Police Sgt. Douglas Morrill said .

Police said Davenport was visiting a clerk at the store and followed the three youths into the parking lot after he suspected that they had stolen some merchandise. Witnesses told police that after a confrontation, one of the assailants took a 20-gauge shotgun out of the car and fired it at Davenport, Morrill said.
