THE SIDELINES : Rambling Wreck Rambles West
Georgia Tech is sending its steel mascot, the Rambling Wreck, to Denver to add inspiration to the Yellow Jackets’ quest for the national basketball championship.
In what is thought to be its longest trip ever, the white-and-gold 1930 Model A Ford automobile was to be placed gently on a truck today and carried to Colorado to help fire up Tech’s basketball team for its NCAA Final Four semifinal game Saturday night against the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.
“We just think that it is very important for one of the greatest traditions of Georgia Tech to be with us for one of the greatest moments of Georgia Tech history,” said Kevin Bryant, marketing director for the school’s athletic association.
