Narcotics officers from several jurisdictions ended a two-month investigation into a Santa Paula gang this week and arrested nine alleged members on suspicion of possession and sales of cocaine and marijuana.

The arrests took place in Santa Paula, Oxnard and Saticoy after officers searched five houses and two businesses. Seven adults were booked into Ventura County Jail, and two juveniles were placed in Juvenile Hall.

Those arrested are members of the Crazy Boys Organized Criminals street gang, which authorities said operates in Ventura, Oxnard, Santa Paula and Saticoy, said Sgt. Gary Pentis of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

The gang has between 25 and 30 members and has been in Santa Paula about five years, Pentis said.

During the raid, which began at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers seized 25 ounces of cocaine, 16 ounces of marijuana, $10,000 in cash, 10 firearms and two cars.

Officers said they were tipped off to the cocaine sales and set up a surveillance operation, watching sales and deliveries, for several weeks.

Seven state, federal and local law enforcement departments cooperated in the investigation, Pentis said.
