Japanese Climber Dies in Fall on Nepal’s Mt. Pumori

KATMANDU, Nepal —
The leader of a Japanese climbing expedition died when he fell into a crevasse in the Himalayas, Nepal’s tourism ministry said Friday.
It said Yoshikuni Mori, a 21-year-old student from Tokushima University, fell into a 525-foot-deep crevasse Wednesday while climbing the 23,494-foot Mt. Pumori.
His body was found at an altitude of 20,300 feet. The team abandoned the attempt on Pumori.
