A battle between a Lynwood resident and four masked men who invaded his home ended when the man and one of the intruders crashed through a living room window onto a porch and another assailant shot the man to death, sheriff’s deputies said Tuesday.

Detectives said Jayevan J. Tyron, 23, was apparently the victim of an attempted robbery. The suspects fled and there were no arrests.

Brenda Glasco, owner of the house in the 12100 block of Alpine Avenue, said Tyron had lived in the rented home for about a year and a half with his girlfriend and their daughter.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Gabe Ramirez said that according to witnesses, four men apparently forced their way into the home late Monday.

“The victim was struggling with one of the suspects when they crashed through the window,” Ramirez said. “The three others followed them through the window.” One of them shot Tyron in the face with a handgun, detectives said.
