Valvano Will Quit After Settlement
Coach Jim Valvano concedes that he has no chance to retain his job and is trying to work out a financial settlement to end his career at North Carolina State, his lawyer, Woody Webb, said in Raleigh Tuesday.
Valvano has been under fire since the school was put on two years’ NCAA probation last fall for violations involving the sale of sneakers and tickets, although Valvano was never accused of any wrongdoing. Recently, there have been allegations of point-shaving involving former Wolfpack players.
