San Diego Superior Court Judge Jesus Rodriguez on Thursday set a midsummer trial date for Elisabeth Anne (Betty) Broderick, the La Jolla mother of four accused of killing her ex-husband and his second wife.
Rodriguez set the date, July 16, but did not specify which judge will hear the case. Judge Laura P. Hammes had been assigned the case but disqualified herself Thursday because she once worked for the San Diego County district attorney’s office, where her husband still works.
Rodriguez said he will assign a judge April 16.
