FULLERTON : Paramedic Fees to Increase by $25

Share

Paramedic fees in the city will increase slightly to more closely match the cost of providing the service.

The City Council this week unanimously agreed to increase the price of basic life-support calls provided by paramedics to $90, up from $75. The cost of advanced treatment will increase from $125 to $150.

Along with the per-call increase, the council increased the annual subscription fee for paramedic service from $14 to $16. Subscribers are not billed for paramedic treatment. Almost half of Fullerton residents are subscribers.

Fullerton’s paramedic subscription fee is the lowest in Orange County, according to a report prepared for the City Council. The city estimates that the fee increases will bring in about $65,000 more each year. Paramedic fees were last increased in July, 1987.
